How to Install ArcMap 10.8.2
To install ArcMap 10.8.2 on your computer, you need to have an account with permission to download software from My Esri, the online portal for managing your Esri products and services. You also need to verify that your computer meets the system requirements for running ArcGIS Desktop.
Once you have logged in to My Esri, you can download the setup file for ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) and run it on your computer. The setup program will guide you through the installation process and allow you to choose between a Complete or Custom installation option. The Complete option will install all the applications, style files, templates, and optionally licensed extensions that are part of ArcGIS Desktop. The Custom option will let you select only the specific components that you need for your installation.
After the installation is complete, you need to authorize the software using the ArcGIS Administrator Wizard. You can choose between a Concurrent or Single Use authorization option depending on your license type and availability. For more details on how to install and authorize ArcGIS Desktop, see the Installation Guide.
How to Get Started with ArcMap
ArcMap is the main application for creating and working with maps and spatial data in ArcGIS Desktop. It allows you to add data from various sources, perform spatial analysis, edit features, symbolize and organize data, create layouts, and share your maps with others.
If you are new to ArcMap or want to refresh your skills, you can start with some of the tutorials that are included with ArcGIS Desktop. These tutorials require that you have installed the ArcGIS Tutorial Data for Desktop component, which is a separate download available on My Esri. The tutorials cover topics such as adding data to a map, analyzing relationships between data, digitizing features, finding areas at risk of flooding, and more.
